Le France - Fontainebleau

The French countryside is really pretty. Can't blame them for working only 35 hours a week to enjoy the rest of the time lazing along the Seine.

Started mon grande voyage a Fontainebleau, a village of 20,000 Frenchies who are mostly students/staff/janitors at INSEAD aka Yet Another European Business School.

Am staying at the acclaimed 1.5* Chez Blanc here. Cosy, comfortable but the service leaves something to be desired. Nice grounds tho... I've enjoyed my afternoon naps on the swing enveloped in the verdant green.

Fontainebleau is most well known for the grand Chateau right in the middle of town.

And it turns out that the Chateau de Fontainebleau was having a FREE open house the night I arrived. So Mr KiaSu Singaporean had to go jalan jalan jetlagged. After all can see Emperor Napoleon's toliets for FREE.

Turns out that every other Tom Hairy French Dick had the same idea.

It was un grande maison (house). The stuff of dreams for every single glitter loving queen.

Its amazing how all this pristine grounds was for the sole pleasure of one single person. No wonder those Frenchies had a revolution.

Chanced upon some historical society doing reenactments of French boys doing pokie pokies ie le Muskateers (EDIT: Les Mousquetieres). Very sharp performances.
(Are there women muskateers?)

What a lovely way of ending my first dazed evening in le France. Bonne nuit.
