The Mr Brown affair
One of my favourite bloggers has had his column in one of the more popular dailies here suspended following a stern rebuke from the Government of Singapore on his timely post on the post-election increase in the cost of living.

The suspension had sent ripples in the blogsphere, inciting righteous outrage against the high handedness of the government and the ruthless self-censorship in the decaying state of affairs.
As for me, my sentiments are summed up by another one of my favourite bloggers in an appropriate tone. For my non-Hokkien readers who is confused by the oft-repeated phrase "Cheebye", it is a commonly used by Singaporeans who wish to make respectful references to their mothers' nether regions.
