With effect from 29th September 2006, the Far East Economic Review has been banned in Singapore. It is now an offense to subscribe to the well-written publication or possess a copy for the purposes of sale, distribution and importation.

It is a privilege and not a right for foreign newspapers to circulate in Singapore. If any foreign newspaper fails to comply with the law, including the Newspaper and Printing Presses Act, they cannot expect to enjoy this privilege"Another voice dies in the wilderness.
